Some interesting and exciting news about this year’s Worldwide Photo Walk: According to Scott Kelby’s blog, the dates for this year’s event (that’s right, dates with an ‘s’), are tentatively set for Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2.
For us photo walkers in Florida, that means we have a more temperate walk environment where we don’t run the risk of heat stroke. But the addition of a second day also means more people can have a chance to come out and join us on a walk.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Worldwide Photo Walk, it’s an annual social photography event that happens on the same day (or days, this year) around the world. Last year’s was in July. Photographers of all skill sets and backgrounds meet and walk around a part of their community, finding great photos just waiting to be taken.
And did I mention it’s a ton of fun? It really is a blast.
I got to lead a group in Stuart, Florida in 2010, pictured above, and am already thinking of locales and venues for this year’s walk. If you have any suggestions, feel free to post them in the comments below or email me directly.
If the tentative new dates offer us a cooler walk, I’m all for them. But they also make us have to wait longer for our walk. Guess I’ll just have to organize an impromptu walk on my own… whattaya say? Anyone want to go on a photo walk?
